NcRNA-Mediated High Expression of HMMR as a Prognostic Biomarker Correlated With Cell Proliferation and Cell Migration in Lung Adenocarcinoma

Xiulin Jiang et al.

Summary: Our study revealed that HMMR is highly expressed in LUAD and its high expression is associated with poor clinicopathological features and adverse outcomes in LUAD patients. The expression of HMMR is positively correlated with immune cell infiltration and immune modulation. Depletion of HMMR significantly repressed the cancer cell growth and migration of LUAD. The DNA methylation/TMPO-AS1/let-7b-5p axis mediated the high expression of HMMR in LUAD.

Summary: A six-gene-pair signature was identified to accurately distinguish PDAC from chronic pancreatitis and normal tissues, which was validated in multiple independent datasets. This signature can aid in the diagnosis of PDAC, even when sampling locations are inaccurate.

A Qualitative Transcriptional Signature for the Risk Assessment of Precancerous Colorectal Lesions

Qingzhou Guan et al.

Summary: The study identified a transcriptional signature of 1,840 gene pairs to assess cancer risk among patients with precancerous colorectal lesions. The risk score was significantly higher in active ulcerative colitis patients compared to remissive patients, and also correlated with dysplasia in colorectal adenomas. The developed risk score has predictive value in clinical application.

Prognostic value of a novel glycolysis-related gene expression signature for gastrointestinal cancer in the Asian population

Rong Xia et al.

Summary: By analyzing gene expression and clinical data of Asian GI cancer patients, a five-gene expression signature including NUP85, HAX1, GNPDA1, HDLBP, and GPD1 was established in this study. This signature can independently predict the prognosis of GI cancers in Asian patients with high sensitivity and specificity.

The NOTCH3 Downstream Target HEYL Is Required for Efficient Human Airway Basal Cell Differentiation

Manish Bodas et al.

Summary: The study reveals HEYL as a key regulator of airway epithelial differentiation downstream of NOTCH3 signaling. Expression level of HEYL in bronchial epithelial cells is closely related to cell differentiation capacity, and its overexpression can restore the differentiation capacity of COPD cells towards normal airway epithelium.

Comprehensive Bioinformatics Analysis to Identify the Gene HMMR Associated With Lung Adenocarcinoma Prognosis and Its Mechanism of Action in Multiple Cancers

Jianguang Shi et al.

Summary: This study identified the key gene HMMR as a potential independent prognostic indicator for lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) based on TCGA and GTEx databases. High expression of HMMR was associated with poor prognosis in LUAD patients and may serve as a key predictor in various cancers.

The predictive prognostic values of CBFA2T3, STX3, DENR, EGLN1, FUT4, and PCDH7 in lung cancer

Yuhao Chen et al.

Summary: This study identified key genes related to lung cancer prognosis, including 8 risk genes and 6 genes that can serve as independent prognosis markers. High-risk patients exhibited more severe inflammatory infiltration. These findings shed light on the mechanisms of lung cancer occurrence and development, and could potentially guide targeted therapy for lung cancer.

Multiple microarray analyses identify key genes associated with the development of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Lemeng Zhang et al.

Summary: This study identified key genes and molecular mechanisms involved in the transition from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). These genes were associated with processes such as DNA replication and cell cycle, and their high expression levels correlated with poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). The study also constructed a prognostic risk model based on these genes, providing valuable prognostic factors for high-risk lung cancer patients with COPD.
