Inhibition of In Vitro Infection of Hepatitis B Virus by Human Breastmilk

Yuqian Luo et al.

Summary: Although hepatitis B virus (HBV) can be found in the breastmilk of infected mothers, breastfeeding does not increase the risk of mother-to-child transmission. Human breastmilk contains lactoferrin, which can bind to HBV and inhibit its infectivity. This finding may explain why breastfeeding does not pose additional risk for HBV transmission.

The potential for Lactoferrin to reduce SARS-CoV-2 induced cytokine storm

Michal Zimecki et al.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by SARS-CoV-2, poses a serious global health threat with cytokine storm being a major factor in mortality. Lactoferrin has shown potential in suppressing cytokine storm and could be a promising approach in combating COVID-19 infection.

Curcumin inhibited hepatitis B viral entry through NTCP binding

Piyanoot Thongsri et al.

Summary: Studies have shown that curcumin (CCM) can reduce HBV infection by inhibiting HBV entry, with its interaction with NTCP playing a key role in this process. Further experiments confirmed the binding affinity between CCM and NTCP, validating the mechanism of CCM inhibition of HBV entry.

Adherence to a Fish-Rich Dietary Pattern Is Associated with Chronic Hepatitis C Patients Showing Low Viral Load: Implications for Nutritional Management

Claudia Ojeda-Granados et al.

Summary: The study found that dietary patterns with a focus on processed animal and fried foods were associated with high blood lipids in chronic HCV and spontaneous clearance patients. In addition, higher intake of polyunsaturated fatty acids was negatively correlated with high viral load, while fiber intake was positively correlated with high viral load.
