Control of Crystallinity of Vinylene-Linked Two-Dimensional Conjugated Polymers by Rational Monomer Design

Dominik L. Pastoetter et al.

Summary: The interest in two-dimensional conjugated polymers (2D CPs), especially vinylene-linked structures, has increased significantly in recent years. However, the synthesis of these polymers through the Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons (HWE) reaction remains largely unexplored. This study reveals the control of crystallinity in 2D CPs through solvothermal synthesis, with the use of fluorinated phosphonates and rigid aldehyde building blocks playing a crucial role in enhancing crystallinity.
