Effect of partial root-zone drying irrigation (PRDI) on the biomass, water productivity and carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus allocations in different organs of alfalfa

Jing Zhang et al.

Summary: Partial root-zone drying irrigation (PRDI) decreased alfalfa leaf biomass, increased root and stem biomass and water productivity, increased C and P concentrations in roots and N concentration in stems and leaves, leading to more C and P allocation to roots and more N allocation to leaves.

Effects of Soil Water Deficit at Different Growth Stages on Maize Growth, Yield, and Water Use Efficiency under Alternate Partial Root-Zone Irrigation

Summary: The study showed that alternate partial root-zone irrigation (APRI) can increase the yield and water use efficiency of maize, while reducing total water consumption. Mild deficit irrigation during the seedling stage has significant effects on multi-objective optimization.
