Summary: This study utilized longitudinal data to analyze the association between frailty and psychosocial risk factors. The findings suggest that loneliness and social isolation contribute to transitions towards frailty and pre-frailty, emphasizing the importance of addressing levels of loneliness and social isolation. The study results indicate that even in the absence of other health conditions, average levels of loneliness and social isolation should be actively managed.
