Control of Oxygen Vacancy Ordering in Brownmillerite Thin Films via Ionic Liquid Gating

Hyeon Han et al.

Summary: Oxygen defects and their atomic arrangements play a significant role in the physical properties of transition metal oxides. This study demonstrates a method to electrically control the ordering of oxygen vacancy channels using ionic liquid gating, providing a new approach for the fabrication of oxitronic devices.

Deep Proton Insertion Assisted by Oxygen Vacancies for Long-Term Memory in VO2 Synaptic Transistor

Chadol Oh et al.

Summary: Preformed oxygen vacancies in VO2-delta lattices can strongly accelerate proton insertion by low gate voltage in synaptic transistors. This leads to an increase in phase transformation steepness and transconductance during voltage sweep, but at the expense of channel current modulation.

Sign-tunable anomalous Hall effect induced by two-dimensional symmetry-protected nodal structures in ferromagnetic perovskite thin films

Byungmin Sohn et al.

Summary: Magnetism and spin-orbit coupling play crucial roles in topological transport phenomena in itinerant ferromagnets. Two-dimensional systems may have stable nodal structures, and perovskite oxides generally support symmetry-protected nodal lines and points in their spin-polarized band structures.

Tailoring the anomalous Hall effect of SrRuO3 thin films by strain: A first principles study

Kartik Samanta et al.

Summary: The study reveals that the anomalous Hall effect in SRO ultrathin films is influenced by substrate-induced strain and oxygen octahedral distortion, showing different structural and property variations under different strains. Berry curvature calculations predict positive and negative anomalous Hall conductivity values under specific strains, indicating a strong impact of longitudinal thermal fluctuations of Ru spin moments on the anomalous Hall effect in this system.

Application of SrRuO3 Nanoparticles Supported with Reduced Graphene Oxide for Degradation of Thiophene Under Visible Light Irradiation

Maha Alhaddad et al.

Summary: The research successfully achieved complete photooxidative desulfurization of thiophene by preparing SrRuO3@rGO nanocomposites, which demonstrated enhanced visible light absorption and reduced bandgap compared to pure SrRuO3 nanoparticles. Additionally, photocurrent and photoluminescence evaluations showed decreased recombination in photogenerated charge carriers for the synthesized SrRuO3@rGO nanocomposites compared to pure SrRuO3 nanoparticles.

Effective reduction of PdCoO2 thin films via hydrogenation and sign tunable anomalous Hall effect

Gaurab Rimal et al.

Summary: PdCoO2, a highly conducting oxide, can be reduced to a PdCo mixed alloy with strong out-of-plane ferromagnetism and tunable anomalous Hall effect through a mild hydrogenation process. This discovery may open up possibilities for creating novel spintronic heterostructures combining strong ferromagnetism involving oxides and other functional materials, while many other compounds remain unaffected under similar hydrogenation conditions.

Defect-Engineered Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya Interaction and Electric-Field-Switchable Topological Spin Texture in SrRuO3

Jingdi Lu et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the successful construction of a sharp interface with significant Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction in spin-orbit-coupled transition-metal oxides through atomic design of defective interfaces. The interfacial inversion-symmetry breaking allows for reversible manipulation of the topological spin texture, leading to deterministic ON and OFF switching of the topological Hall signal. These defect-engineered topological spin textures may hold promise for future skyrmion-based memristor and synaptic devices.
