Precipitation Hardening in Ferroelectric Ceramics

Changhao Zhao et al.

Summary: The study presents a novel approach for electroceramics by utilizing precipitates to pin domain walls, improving piezoelectric properties and enhancing mechanical quality factor. This new method reduces hysteresis in electrostrain while slightly increasing the piezoelectric coefficient and electromechanical coupling factor. The process can be smoothly implemented in industrial production and easily optimized in laboratory settings for various ferroelectric systems.
