Parotid Gland Stem Cell Sparing Radiation Therapy for Patients With Head and Neck Cancer: A Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial

Summary: This study compared different techniques of parotid gland sparing radiation therapy in head and neck cancer patients. The results showed that parotid gland stem cell sparing radiation therapy did not significantly improve parotid function, but the dose to the stem cell region was the strongest predictor for the development of xerostomia.
