Fluctuating asymmetry of finger lengths, digit ratio (2D:4D), and tattoos: A pre-registered replication and extension of Koziel et al. (2010)

Tinisha Osu et al.

Summary: The study investigated the relationship between fluctuating asymmetry of finger lengths and digit ratio as predictors of adult tattoo prevalence. Results showed that in males, greater fluctuating asymmetry was associated with lower likelihood of having tattoos, while in females, it was associated with higher numbers of tattoos. Digit ratio correlated negatively with number of tattoos in males and positively in females, but these findings were not significant after controlling for covariates.

Turking in the time of COVID

Antonio A. Arechar et al.

Summary: In March 2020, the US Government implemented strict social distancing measures, affecting millions of Americans who had to adapt to new ways of making a living from home. A study analyzing responses from 23 studies on MTurk between February and July 2020 found that the imposition of nationwide social distancing led to changes in the characteristics of participants, with a more diverse pool of new participants who were less attentive.

Androgens and offending behavior: Evidence based on multiple self-reported measures of prenatal and general testosterone exposure

Anthony W. Hoskin et al.

Summary: The study found that exposure to testosterone throughout life can promote offending behavior, especially in terms of aggressive and violent offenses. Although correlations were weaker for males and females regarding prenatal testosterone exposure variables, there was still substantial support for general testosterone-promoted traits.
