Summary: Strain engineering has become a critical strategy for improving the optoelectronic properties of perovskite halide materials. This study proposes an in situ-strain-engineering method to induce compressive or tensile strain in flexible inorganic-halide CsPbBr3 thin films. The results show that the optimized compressively 0.75%-strained CsPbBr3 thin films achieve the best piezoelectric energy harvesting values, which are nearly 3.8 and 7.1 times better than the unstrained reference.

Photothermal Structural Dynamics of Au Nanofurnace for In Situ Enhancement in Desorption and Ionization

Moon-Ju Kim et al.

Summary: This study investigates the enhancement of desorption/ionization in LDI-MS using a hybrid matrix of Au nanoisland-functionalized ZnO nanotubes, revealing the effect of laser-induced surface restructuring/melting phenomenon for the first time. Au nanoislands play a crucial role as a photothermal nanofurnace, facilitating internal energy transfer and promoting desorption, while piezoelectricity driven in situ modulates band structure and enhances ionization. Ultimately, high LDI-MS performance is achieved for small metabolites of fatty acids and monosaccharides, challenging conventional detection methods.

Summary: This study prepared alumina compounds with different phases and nanostructures, and investigated the crystal structure, annealing temperature, and photoluminescence properties. The results show that temperature plays an important role in phase transition, morphology, and optical properties, with traces of impurities like Cr3+ detected through spectroscopic analysis. The study also found significant variations in emission spectra due to the presence of impurities, particularly in the alpha-Al2O3 phase.

Ultrafast femtosecond pressure modulation of structure and exciton kinetics in 2D halide perovskites for enhanced light response and stability

Chunpeng Song et al.

Summary: The transportation of carriers in 2D perovskites is hindered by dielectric confinement, but this can be reduced by introducing ultrafast shock pressure with a femtosecond laser. This modulation of structure and exciton dynamics can lead to improved stability and properties of halide perovskites. The findings suggest that femtosecond laser shock processing is a promising approach for enhancing the performance of perovskite materials.
