Liquid metal bionic instant self-healing flexible electronics with full recyclability and high reliability

Xiyu Wang et al.

Summary: Soft smart electronics with fast self-healing ability, complete recyclability, and high reliability have been developed using the bio-based alpha-thioctic acid (TA) and butyl acrylate (BA) recycled copolymer as the substrate material. The rapid self-healing performance is similar to the concept of clinic healing by first intention, and the coupling of mask and plasma treatment enhances the interaction between liquid metal (LM) and substrate, leading to the fabrication of flexible electronic devices with real-time mechanical and conductivity self-healing performances. The developed Liquid Metal-Bionic Instant Self-Healing Electronic Materials (LM-BISHEM) have wide applications in wearable intelligent devices.

Efficient Visible-Light-Driven RAFT Polymerization Mediated by Deep Eutectic Solvents under an Open-to-Air Environment

Chia-Yu Li et al.

Summary: In this study, the use of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) was found to enhance the efficiency of visible light-driven RAFT polymerization, allowing for efficient control of molecular weight distribution and preservation of functional chain ends. DESs were shown to be effective and green media for photo-induced RAFT polymerization without the need for additives or tedious degassing processes.
