Assessing Alexithymia: Psychometric Properties of the Perth Alexithymia Questionnaire in a Spanish-Speaking Sample

Rodrigo Becerra et al.

Summary: Alexithymia is a trait characterized by difficulties in identifying feelings, describing feelings, and externally oriented thinking. The Perth Alexithymia Questionnaire (PAQ) has been developed for comprehensive assessments, with the Spanish version showing good psychometric properties in a study conducted with adults in Chile. The PAQ appears to provide a robust and detailed profile of alexithymia, supporting its use in cross-cultural research on psychological disorders.

Further Support for the Psychometric Properties of the Farsi Version of Perth Alexithymia Questionnaire

Arezou Lashkari et al.

Summary: The study examined the psychometric features of the Farsi version of the Perth Alexithymia Questionnaire (PAQ) in the Iranian population, showing good internal consistency, test-retest reliability, and strong associations for concurrent and discriminant validity with various measures. The findings suggest that the Farsi version of PAQ has strong psychometric properties and is suitable for use in the Farsi-speaking population.
