Performance of a CsI(Tl) scintillation screen with a dual-periodic structure based on an oxidized silicon micropore array template in X-ray imaging

Zhixiang Sun et al.

Summary: A dual-periodic structure of CsI(Tl) scintillation screen is proposed to improve the detection efficiency when the structure period reaches the order of microns, with each unit of the primary structure divided equally into four or nine square column-shaped scintillation sub-units to form a secondary structure separated by SiO2 layers. Experimental results show that the performance of the dual-structure CsI(Tl) screen in X-ray imaging outperforms that of a corresponding single-structure screen.
