Effect of blending encapsulated essential oils and organic acids as an antibiotic growth promoter alternative on growth performance and intestinal health in broilers with necrotic enteritis

Van Hieu Pham et al.

Summary: The study found that feeding a blend of encapsulated organic acids with essential oils (EOA) improved the growth performance and gut health of Eimeria spp./Clostridium perfringens infected chickens. The EOA feed reduced gut lesions, serum level, and bacterial load, and increased villous height and goblet cell counts. It also positively regulated gene expression and modulated the cecal microbiota composition.

Effect of pre-treating dietary green seaweed with fibrolytic enzymes on growth performance, blood indices, and meat quality parameters of Cobb 500 broiler chickens

T. B. Matshogo et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the effects of pretreating dietary green seaweed with a fibrolytic enzyme mixture on physiological and meat quality parameters of Cobb 500 broiler chickens. The pre-treatment did not improve growth performance, blood parameters, and meat quality traits in broiler chickens. An optimum fibrolytic enzyme treatment level for seaweed could not be determined, suggesting a need for further investigation.

Dietary fortification of crushed seeds of Bonium persicum on growth performance, apparent ileal digestibility and blood metabolites in broiler chicks during the starter phase

Muhammad Shuaib et al.

Summary: The crushed wild Cumin seeds as a feed additive in broiler diet during the starter phase can improve growth performance, nutrient digestibility, and blood metabolites. The rate of 0.5 g/kg showed the best results in terms of growth, nutrient digestibility, and blood cholesterol profile.
