Fluorescence Biosensor for One-Step Simultaneous Detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis Multidrug-Resistant Genes Using nanoCoTPyP and Double Quantum Dots

Ou Hu et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel fluorescence biosensor was developed for simultaneous detection of multidrug-resistant genes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Several nanoCoTPPs with different charges and morphology were prepared and it was found that spherical nanoCoTPPs with positive charge exhibited excellent quenching effect and sensing performance. Two drug-resistant genes could be quantified simultaneously in a single run with good accuracy and reliability. This simple and low-cost approach has great potential for clinical diagnosis of MDR-TB.

Programmable One-Pot Enzymatic Reaction for Direct Fluorescence Detection of Ultralow-Abundance Mutations in the DNA Duplex

Ziyu Yang et al.

Summary: Sensitive detection of low-abundance driver mutations is crucial for precise clinical treatment. Fluorescent probes offer a flexible and rapid method for specific mutation detection, with the integration of ssDNA-generation step and detection into a one-pot reaction with lambda exonuclease showing high discrimination factors for EGFR and PIK3CA mutations. This new method provides advantages in simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and speed compared to existing approaches, making it a convenient tool for genetic mutation analysis in clinical samples.
