A Highly Sensitive Electrochemical Sensor Based on β-cyclodextrin Functionalized Multi-Wall Carbon Nanotubes and Fe3O4 Nanoparticles for Rutin Detection

Wen-Jun Zhao et al.

Summary: A functionalized nanocomposite consisting of multi-wall carbon nanotubes, Fe3O4 nanoparticles, and beta-cyclodextrin was prepared. The modified electrode showed good electrochemical response towards rutin and exhibited a wide linear range and low detection limit. The results of actual sample detection were consistent with ultra-high performance liquid chromatography analysis. The nanocomposite integrated the excellent conductivity and electrocatalytic activity of multi-wall carbon nanotubes and Fe3O4, as well as the dispersibility of beta-cyclodextrin, and may synergistically enhance the electrochemical response towards rutin. Furthermore, the prepared sensor had good anti-interference ability and potential application in the detection of drugs in actual content.
