DFT and TD-DFT Investigation of a Charge Transfer Surface Resonance Raman Model of N3 Dye Bound to a Small TiO2 Nanoparticle

Ronald L. Birke et al.

Summary: Raman spectroscopy and Density Functional Theory were used to study the configuration of Ru bipyridyl dyes on TiO2 surfaces. Two configurations of the dye were identified, each with different interactions on the TiO2 surface. The study also simulated Raman scattering and charge transfer processes, providing insights into the mechanism of electron injection to titania surfaces.
