Investigating dry room compatibility of sulfide solid-state electrolytes for scalable manufacturing

Yu-Ting Chen et al.

Summary: All-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) are considered as promising next-generation energy storage devices due to their enhanced safety and potential applications in commercial ASSBs. However, sulfide solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) used in ASSBs are generally unstable in ambient air and require dry room manufacturing processes. This study reveals the chemical evolution of a sulfide electrolyte, Li6PS5Cl (LPSCl), during air exposure and confirms its compatibility with dry room production.
