This study investigates the effect of transient and high-energy pulse current on the phase transformation behavior of NiTi shape memory alloy. The results show that THEPC increases the start temperature of martensitic transformation and changes the transformation sequence.
The effect of transient and high-energy pulse current (THEPC) on the phase transformation behavior of the Ti -50.8 at.% Ni shape memory alloy was investigated in this study. The results show that the THEPC increases the start temperature of martensitic transformation, which indicates the facilitation of the thermal-induced martensitic transformation. Meanwhile, the transient and high-energy effect of the pulse current changes the phase transformation sequence of NiTi alloy during cooling, making it from one-stage phase transformation of A-*M to two-stage of A-*M1 and A-*M2.
