High order plasmonic vortex generation based on spiral nanoslits

Jing Fang et al.

Summary: A novel plasmonic vortex generator based on spiral nanoslits etched in a metal film has been proposed, which can produce high order plasmonic vortices with high intensity. The segmented nanoslits enhance the controllability of the plasmonic vortices, broadening the prospects for practical applications in nanomanipulation and nanofabrication.

Generation of anomalous vector Bessel beams with varying polarization order along the propagation direction

Bo Yang et al.

Summary: Vector Bessel beams (VBBs) are characterized by non-uniform polarization distributions and non-diffraction characteristics, making them useful in optical trapping, optical microscopy, and optical communication. Anomalous-VBBs with polarization order dependent on propagation distance can be generated by using a designed spiral slit to introduce continuous phase delay, allowing for the manipulation of polarization orders including integers and fractions. The local polarization order of anomalous-VBBs is inversely proportional to the propagation distance, suggesting potential applications in light-matter interaction, microscopy, and quantum information.
