Alternaria leaf spot of broccoli caused by Alternaria alternata in Bangladesh

Sayma T. Nira et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to isolate and characterize the pathogen responsible for Alternaria leaf spot on broccoli and evaluate the effectiveness of fungicides against it. The pathogen was identified as Alternaria alternata based on morphological and molecular analysis. The conidia of the isolates had distinct characteristics, and the maximum growth of the pathogen was observed at 30 degrees C and pH 6.0. Tilt 250 WC showed the highest inhibitory potential against the mycelial growth of A. alternata at a low concentration.

Morphological and Molecular Characterization of Alternaria Species Causing Leaf Blight on Watermelon in China

Guoping Ma et al.

Summary: The study identified six Alternaria species associated with watermelon leaf blight in China, with A. tenuissima being the most prevalent. Notably, A. infectoria, A. gaisen, and an unclassified Alternaria species were reported as causal agents of leaf blight on watermelon for the first time globally.

The effectiveness of Bacopamonnieri (Linn.) Wettst. as a nootropic, neuroprotective, or antidepressant supplement: analysis of the available clinical data

James M. Brimson et al.

Summary: Bacopamonnieri has shown effectiveness as a neuroprotective and memory-enhancing drug in healthy individuals and those with memory loss. When used in combination with other plant extracts, it significantly reduces the effects of Alzheimer's disease and depression. More studies are needed to establish its clinical effects and corroborate preclinical data.

Molecular characterization of leaf spot caused by Alternaria alternata on buttonwood (Conocarpus erectus L.) and determination of pathogenicity by a novel disease rating scale

Muhammad Fahim Abbas et al.

Summary: Buttonwood, a mangrove shrub, is commonly found along the shorelines of tropical and subtropical regions. A disease severity scale for alternaria leaf spot of buttonwood was developed for the first time, and molecular identification showed high genetic similarity with mangrove ecosystem isolates.

Biochemical and molecular characterization of Alternaria alternata isolates highly resistant to procymidone from broccoli and cabbage

Bingran Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that most procymidone-resistant Alternaria alternata isolates were more sensitive to osmotic stress but less sensitive to stressors such as sodium dodecyl sulfate, and there was a positive cross-resistance between procymidone and iprodione or fludioxonil.
