Burnout, social support, anxiety and job satisfaction among social work professionals

Francisco Caravaca-Sanchez et al.

Summary: This research examines the prevalence of burnout and associated risk factors among social workers in Spain. The study finds that higher perceived social support is linked to lower incidence of burnout, while higher anxiety and lower job satisfaction are linked to higher burnout rates. Additionally, certain variables such as age, work seniority, working in social services, and perceived social support are statistically significantly associated with different dimensions of burnout. The current results could inform prevention strategies aimed at reducing burnout among social work professionals in Spain.
