Awareness of and Preferences for Preexposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) among MSM at High Risk of HIV Infection in Southern China: Findings from the T2T Study

Weiying Chen et al.

Summary: This study revealed low awareness but moderate willingness to use HIV preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) among high-risk men who have sex with men in southern China. MSM with higher education levels, condom use, frequent HIV testing, use of gay dating apps, participation in HIV/STD-related studies, and prior knowledge of PrEP were more likely to be aware of and willing to use PrEP. Further research and implementation of PrEP targeting at-risk MSM should be conducted to improve awareness and uptake.
