Supramolecular Self-Assembly of Atomically Precise Silver Nanoclusters with Chiral Peptide for Temperature Sensing and Detection of Arginine

Wenjuan Wang et al.

Summary: Metal nanoclusters have attracted attention as a new type of fluorescent material due to their good biocompatibilities and outstanding optical properties. This study investigates the self-assembly of atomic precise silver nanoclusters through supramolecular interactions, and demonstrates their ability to form highly luminescent hydrogels with chiral properties. The resulting nanocluster-based hydrogel shows selectivity and sensitivity in detecting small biological molecules, making it a promising candidate material in the fields of sensors and biological sciences.

Novel perylene diimides for improved photophysical and electrochemical properties

Sooyeon Kim et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of introducing ortho-terphenyl groups at the 1- and 7-bay positions of PDI on its photophysical and electrochemical properties. Through density functional theory calculations, it was found that PDI-TP exhibited a highly twisted structure and increased solubility, which contributed to its enhanced performance as a third component in ternary OSCs, resulting in significantly improved power conversion efficiency.

Self-assembly of silver nanoclusters and phthalic acid into hollow tubes as a superior sensor for Fe3+

Xiaohui Cheng et al.

Summary: A water-soluble silver nanocluster (Ag-9-NCs) was synthesized using a self-assembly strategy and formed a strong phosphorescent hydrogel, serving as an excellent Fe3+ sensor with a detection limit of 0.611 μM. This work demonstrates the successful preparation of a hydrogel through supramolecular self-assembly and its potential applications in biological sciences and sensors.

Luminescent Hydrogel Based on Silver Nanocluster/Malic Acid and Its Composite Film for Highly Sensitive Detection of Fe3+

Xiangkai Liu et al.

Summary: Metal nanoclusters (NCs) with excellent photoluminescence properties have been successfully regulated using a supramolecular self-assembly strategy, resulting in a phosphorescent hydrogel with stable and bright luminescence attributed to aggregation-induced emission (AIE) phenomenon. This research enriches the self-assembly system for enhancing the AIE of metal NCs and demonstrates the potential of the prepared hybrid films as good candidates for optical materials.
