A ratiometric fluorescence probe for the selective detection of H2S in serum using a pyrene-DPA-Cd2+ complex

Jihoon Kim et al.

Summary: A ratiometric and selective hydrogen sulfide detection probe was developed based on the metal ion displacement mechanism, showing rapid response and high sensitivity with a detection limit of 70 nM. The probe exhibited unchanged monomer emission as an internal reference and enhanced excimer emission with the addition of H2S. The method was successfully applied for detecting H2S in human serum without interference from biological molecules.
