Mathematics Students' Coping Behaviour, Happiness, and Self-efficacy in the New Normal: Correlation and K-means Cluster Analysis

Leomarich F. Casinillo

Summary: Students in distance education are expected to have low levels of happiness in learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, this study found that students still demonstrated moderate levels of coping behaviour, happiness, and self-efficacy in learning mathematics. The results highlighted the importance of combining coping behaviour, happiness, and efficacy to achieve positive learning outcomes during the health crisis. Mathematics teachers should encourage student engagement in the classroom to enhance their overall well-being.

Diagnosis of Mycobacterium bovis infection in free-ranging common hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius)

Tanya J. Kerr et al.

Summary: Bovine tuberculosis negatively affects the wildlife industry, and accurate detection tools for M. bovis infection are crucial for surveillance and management of wildlife populations. This study found evidence of M. bovis infection in hippopotamus from GKPA, suggesting the risk of interspecies transmission and supporting the hypothesis that M. bovis infection may be under recognized in hippos.

Optimized interferon-gamma release assays for detection of Mycobacterium bovis infection in African buffaloes (Syncerus caffer)

Katrin Smith et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the Mabtech ELISA kit for detecting buffalo IFN-γ, showing good sensitivity and specificity for early detection of Mycobacterium bovis. The Mabtech IGRA demonstrated a sensitivity of 89% and a specificity of 94%, indicating it as a promising diagnostic tool for M. bovis detection in African buffaloes.

CYTOKINE-RELEASE ASSAY FOR THE DETECTION OF MYCOBACTERIUM BOVIS INFECTION IN CHEETAH (ACINONYX JUBATUS)

Rachiel Gumbo et al.

Summary: The study aimed to develop a novel method to distinguish between Mycobacterium bovis-infected and uninfected cheetahs using feline cytokine ELISA and recombinant proteins. The Mabtech Cat IFN-gamma ELISA(Basic) was identified as the most suitable assay for this purpose, showing potential for diagnostic application in cheetahs.

Review of Diagnostic Tests for Detection of Mycobacterium bovis Infection in South African Wildlife

Netanya Bernitz et al.

Summary: Wildlife tuberculosis, specifically caused by Mycobacterium bovis, is a major concern globally. In South Africa, 24 mammalian wildlife species have been found to be infected with M. bovis. Accurate identification of infected animals is crucial for limiting the spread and controlling the disease.

Diagnostic accuracy of the interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA) for cases of feline mycobacteriosis

Jordan L. Mitchell et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the sensitivity and specificity of the interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA) for diagnosing infections in domestic cats, and identified new feline-specific cut-off values to improve test performance. ROC analysis allowed for adjustment of current cut-offs, increasing sensitivity for MTBC and M. bovis infections while maintaining high specificity. Application of these results can improve diagnostic performance for M. bovis infections without compromising specificity.

Diagnosis of tuberculosis in wildlife: a systematic review

Jobin Thomas et al.

Summary: Animal tuberculosis, caused by the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex, is a multi-host disease with significant impact on economy, industry, public health, and conservation. New approaches to wildlife TB diagnosis have gained importance in recent years. Immunological diagnostic tests based on immune response detection are becoming more crucial in wildlife TB diagnosis.
