An overview of the Brazilian frog farming

Luisa P. Ribeiro et al.

Summary: The increasing world population poses challenges in food production, especially animal-based products, which must be balanced with environmental health. Aquaculture, particularly frog farming, is considered less environmentally harmful due to reduced land requirements and encompasses a variety of cultivated species. Brazil, a leading bullfrog producer, lacks comprehensive data on production. Factors contributing to the growth of bullfrog farming include potential economic competitiveness and environmental consciousness. Expansions and improvements are needed in consumer markets and overall workflow to enhance the visibility and sustainability of frog farming in Brazil.

Addressing context dependence in ecology

Jane A. Catford et al.

Summary: Context dependence is a key factor in explaining diverse outcomes in ecology, and it arises when the conditions under which a relationship is observed change. It can lead to contradictory conclusions and limit the transferability of research findings. Through examples from biological invasions, two types of context dependence, mechanistic and apparent, are identified.
