Giant Peltier conductivity in an uncompensated semimetal Ta2PdSe6

Akitoshi Nakano et al.

Summary: Research on the thermoelectric properties of single crystal Ta2PdSe6 revealed a giant Peltier conductivity of 100 A cm(-1) K-1 at 10 K, explained by conventional semiconductor theory. The uncompensated semimetal, high mobility, and heavy effective mass are identified as responsible factors for the giant Peltier conductivity. This discovery paves the way for exploring superior semimetals for potential new applications, such as an electric current generator for superconducting magnets.

Magnetic-Field-Induced Re-entrance of Superconductivity in Ta2PdS5 Nanostrips

Enze Zhang et al.

Summary: The study discovered a dissipationless re-entrant state and a significant drop in magnetoresistance in Ta2PdS5 nanostrips. Time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau calculations revealed that the phenomenon is due to the increased energy barrier suppressing vortex motion at the edges. Both experiments and simulations demonstrate that this giant re-entrance of superconductivity occurs only in certain geometrical regimes.

Room Temperature Thermoelectric Properties of Isostructural Selenides Ta2PdS6 and Ta2PdSe6

Akitoshi Nakano et al.

Summary: The thermoelectric properties of Ta2PdX6 (X = S, Se) were measured around room temperature using single crystal samples. It was found that Ta2PdSe6 shows the largest power factor among thermoelectric materials at 300K, with an electrical conductivity of 10(-2) Omega cm. Ta2PdS6 may be a possible candidate for Peltier cooling material if lattice thermal conductivity is reduced by chemical substitution.

Pressure-induced reemergence of superconductivity in the topological kagome metal CsV3Sb5

Zhuyi Zhang et al.

Summary: This study reports pressure-induced reemergence of superconductivity in CsV3Sb5, where the superconducting critical temperature initially increases and then decreases with pressure, forming a dome-shaped superconducting phase diagram. A new superconducting state emerges with further compression above 16.5 GPa, with T-c reaching a second maximum around 5.0 K and remaining stable up to 47.9 GPa. The reemergence of superconductivity in V-based superconductor is suggested to be attributed to a pressure-induced Lifshitz transition, supported by high-pressure synchrotron x-ray-diffraction measurements showing the stability of the pristine hexagonal phase up to 43.1 GPa.
