Enhanced adsorptive removal of crystal violet dye from aqueous media using citric acid modified red-seaweed: experimental study combined with RSM process optimization

Abdelilah Essekri et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel biosorbent, citric acid modified red-seaweed, was prepared and used for the removal of crystal violet (CV) from water. The biosorption performance of the adsorbent was evaluated through various surface characterization techniques and batch experiments. The results showed that the citric acid modification significantly improved the biosorption efficiency of the red seaweed for CV. The maximum CV biosorption efficiency reached 93.40% under the optimal biosorption conditions. Furthermore, the citric acid modified red-seaweed also exhibited good regeneration performance.

Agronomic Traits, Fresh Food Processing Characteristics and Sensory Quality of 26 Mung Bean (Vigna radiata L.) Cultivars (Fabaceae) in China

Tianyao Zhao et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the agronomic traits, fresh bean characteristics, and sensory evaluation of boiled beans for 26 mung bean cultivars. It found that high-yielding mung bean cultivars had advantages in branching, pod number, and 100-seed weight, while Zhanglv 3 had the highest total sensory evaluation score for boiled beans. Grey relational analysis identified Zhonglv 3, Jilv 11, Zhonglv 1, CES-78, and Kelv 2 as suitable cultivars for fresh food processing.

Novel insights into the nanoadsorption mechanisms of crystal violet using nano-hazelnut shell from aqueous solution

Mashael A. Al-Ajji et al.

Summary: This study investigated the nanoadsorption mechanisms of crystal violet using nano-hazelnut shells from an aqueous solution. Various factors like pH, temperature, and initial CV concentration were evaluated, with nano-HS showing higher adsorption capacity at higher temperature and pH. The physical and chemical properties of hazelnut shells and nano-HS were characterized using FTIR, SEM, and TEM.
