Effect of Dietary L-Methionine Supplementation on Growth Performance, Carcass Traits, and Plasma Parameters of Starter Pekin Ducks at Different Dietary Energy Levels

Yongbao Wu et al.

Summary: Significant improvements have been made in the duck commercial industry, particularly in precise nutrition and growth efficiency. Experimental results have shown that L-Met has better growth effects on ducks, and the dietary Met requirement is influenced by the ME levels in feed.

Amino acid requirements for laying hens: a comprehensive

Shemil P. Macelline et al.

Summary: This review aims to consolidate published data on amino acid requirements of layer hens and proposes new recommendations based on these data. Inconsistencies in recommendations for various amino acids have been found, with factors such as breed, age, basal diet composition, and assessment method contributing to the discrepancies. The development of reduced-protein diets for layer hens is gaining attention for sustainable production, involving changes in diet composition with inclusions of nonbound amino acids that may influence amino acid requirements.

Optimal methionine plus cystine requirements in diets supplemented with L-methionine in starter, grower, and finisher broilers

J. Millecam et al.

Summary: Correct supplementation of dietary amino acids, such as methionine and cystine, is crucial for supporting the exponential growth of broilers. This study aimed to investigate the optimal L-Met plus Cys requirements of broilers in different growth stages, with results showing the importance of L-Met plus Cys supplementation in the starter and grower phases. The linear broken line model showed the best fit, and the optimal levels of L-Met plus Cys were found to be 0.69%, 0.66%, and 0.62% for birds in the starter, grower, and finisher phases, respectively.
