The impact of information technology usage on supply chain resilience and performance: An ambidexterous view

Minhao Gu et al.

Summary: This study, based on data collected from 206 manufacturers in China, empirically examines how firms implement different information technology patterns (exploitative versus explorative) with supply chain partners to achieve supplier and customer resilience, and the performance implications of these two dimensions of supply chain resilience. The findings show that explorative use of IT with suppliers and customers has significant effects on enhancing supply chain resilience, while IT ambidexterity plays a key role in reconciling the paradox between IT exploitation and exploration.
