Association of PTTG1 expression with invasiveness of non-functioning pituitary adenomas

Su Jung Kum et al.

Summary: The study found that PTTG1 expression is significantly correlated with the invasiveness of NFPAs, while PITX2 and galectin-3 do not have a relationship with invasiveness. Additionally, there was no association among PTTG1, E-cadherin, and Ki-67 expression.

Resection of the medial wall of the cavernous sinus in functioning pituitary adenomas: Technical note and outcomes in a matched-cohort study

Abdelsimar T. Omar et al.

Summary: Resection of the medial wall of the cavernous sinus using BETS appears to be safe and technically feasible for treating patients with functioning pituitary adenomas. There were no significant differences observed in biochemical remission and tumor control rates during the follow-up period in the cohort.

Systemic PPARγ Antagonism Reduces Metastatic Tumor Progression in Adipocyte-Rich Bone in Excess Weight Male Rodents

Anastasia Gaculenko et al.

Summary: The study found that adipose tissue plays a critical role in bone metastases and cancer-induced bone loss. High-fat diet-induced bone marrow adiposity accelerates tumor progression and bone lesions. Antagonizing adipocyte differentiation and storage pathway can slow down tumor progression and osteolytic damage in bones exposed to high-fat diet.

The prognostic and diagnostic value of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases gene family and potential function in gastric cancer

Zhao Li et al.

Summary: This study investigated the diagnostic and prognostic value of TIMP gene family in gastric cancer using data from TCGA. Results indicated that TIMP1, TIMP3, and TIMP4 have potential diagnostic value, while TIMP2 and TIMP3 are associated with overall survival. Functional analysis revealed the potential mechanisms and effects of TIMP genes on gastric cancer cell behavior, suggesting their potential as biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis in GC.
