An early multicenter experience of the novel high-density star-shaped mapping catheter in complex arrhythmias

Andrea Sarkozy et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the feasibility, safety, and operator feedback of a novel star-shaped high-density mapping catheter in mapping complex arrhythmias. The results demonstrated that the catheter successfully completed pre-ablation mapping requirements and obtained clinically indicated mapping with good safety profile. Operator feedback indicated satisfaction with the ease of use and maneuverability of the catheter.

The Incidence, Electrophysiological Characteristics and Ablation Outcome of Left Atrial Tachycardias after Pulmonary Vein Isolation Using Three Different Ablation Technologies

Patrick Leitz et al.

Summary: This study investigated the incidence and characteristics of left atrial tachycardias (LAT) following pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) using different ablation technologies. The results showed that the cryoballoon ablation group had the highest rate of LAT, and the predominant mechanism was macro-reentrant tachycardia. Nearly all LAT patients had at least one pulmonary vein reconnection.

High-density versus low-density mapping in ablation of atypical atrial flutter

J. C. Balt et al.

Summary: The use of high-density mapping for ablation of atypical atrial flutter appears to increase acute procedural success and decrease the incidence of unmappable flutters compared to standard mapping catheters. Patients mapped with the high-density EnSite Precision system also showed significantly higher freedom from recurrent AAFL at 1 year.

Use of high-density activation and voltage mapping in combination with entrainment to delineate gap-related atrial tachycardias post atrial fibrillation ablation

Konstantinos Vlachos et al.

Summary: This study systematically evaluated the mechanisms of atrial tachycardia using ultra-high-resolution mapping in a large cohort of patients, revealing that high-density voltage and entrainment mapping can accurately delineate the critical part of the circuit in endocardial gap-related re-entrant AT after AF ablation.

Epicardial course of the septopulmonary bundle: Anatomical considerations and clinical implications for roof line completion

Summary: Residual gaps in the roof line were more frequent than in the floor line during atrial fibrillation ablation, with careful electrogram analysis showing epicardial bypass in all cases. A floor line may be an effective alternative strategy in cases of epicardial conduction across the roof line, with specific validation criteria.

The isthmus characteristics of scar-related macroreentrant atrial tachycardia in patients with and without cardiac surgery

Shin-Huei Liu et al.

Summary: Identifying the critical isthmus in scar-related macroreentrant atrial tachycardia is challenging, especially for patients with cardiac surgery. The characteristics of the isthmus are diverse, and successful ablation of scar-related ATs can be facilitated by identifying CIs. After a follow-up of 182 +/- 19 days, 93.54% of patients remained in sinus rhythm.

Ablation of atrial tachycardia in the setting of prior mitral valve surgery

Jacopo Marazzato et al.

Summary: Catheter ablation is feasible for post-surgical atrial tachycardia occurring after mitral valve surgery. The majority of arrhythmias are caused by macro-reentry, with one third showing cavotricuspid isthmus-dependent arrhythmia. Prior Cox-Maze IV associated with mitral valve surgery is an independent predictor of left-sided arrhythmia.

A new interpretation of nonpulmonary vein substrates of the left atrium in patients with atrial fibrillation

Mariano Rillo et al.

Summary: By constructing maps with various catheters and 3D electro-anatomical systems, the incidence of low-voltage zones in the left atrium can be accurately evaluated. In this study, it was found that the optimal voltage range for identifying low-voltage zones for the omnipolar catheter was 0.3-0.6 mV.
