Methodological assessment of guidelines for the diagnosis and management of cerebral vasospasm using the AGREE-II tool

Anastasia Tasiou et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the reporting clarity and methodological quality of published guidelines and recommendations for the diagnosis and management of vasospasm in aSAH patients. Findings suggest that existing guidelines could be improved in terms of development rigor, clinical applicability, editorial independence, and stakeholder involvement. The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association guidelines were found to have the highest methodological quality and reporting clarity in this study.

Diagnostic and prognostic potential of circulating miRNAs for intracranial aneurysms

Ilgiz Gareev et al.

Summary: Intracranial aneurysm (IA) is an abnormal dilation of an artery in the brain and is the most common cause of nontraumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a role in the pathogenesis of IA and circulating miRNAs are considered as potential biomarkers for this disease.

Terson's syndrome, the current concepts and management strategies: A review of literature

Rabii Aboulhosn et al.

Summary: Terson's Syndrome is characterized by intraocular hemorrhage secondary to acutely raised intracranial pressure, commonly seen in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage. Clinical features include decreased visual acuity and blurred vision, with diagnosis relying on clinical presentation and fundoscopy. Treatment approaches vary depending on the severity of the condition.

Summary: This study investigated the molecular mechanism of SAH pathophysiology and identified 38 potential RNA biomarkers for predicting the risk of SAH through network analysis. The predictive value of the 38 biomarkers was high, with an AUC of 0.990, showing promise for clinical application after further validation.
