Strong Association of the Myriad Discrete Speckled Nuclear Pattern With Anti-SS-A/Ro60 Antibodies: Consensus Experience of Four International Expert Centers

Nadja Rober et al.

Summary: This study confirms the association between the AC-4a pattern and anti-SS-A/Ro, as opposed to the AC-4b pattern. The results from four international expert laboratories support the global applicability of these AC-4 pattern variants and their classification under ICAP as AC-4a and AC-4b. The AC-4 pattern should be maintained as a unified pattern for cases where AC-4a and AC-4b patterns cannot be distinguished, and the recognition of the AC-4a pattern should enhance the interpretation value of HEp-2 IFA.

Clinical Experience of Proteasome Inhibitor Bortezomib Regarding Efficacy and Safety in Severe Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: A Nationwide Study

Tomas Walhelm et al.

Summary: Bortezomib shows favorable therapeutic effects in treating SLE, especially for patients with severe manifestations unresponsive to conventional immunosuppressive agents. Reduction of proteinuria and seroconversion of some autoantibodies were observed during treatment. Adverse events mainly included infections, but most patients tolerated the treatment well.
