Compliance with the main preventive measures of COVID-19 in Spain: The role of knowledge, attitudes, practices, and risk perception

Maria Teresa Beca-Martinez et al.

Summary: This study found that factors associated with adherence to the 3W preventive measures in response to COVID-19 in Spain include age over 45, knowledge of COVID-19 transmission and proper mask wearing, appropriate attitudes towards COVID-19, high risk perception, and adherence to other preventive measures. Developing effective health education programs and communication strategies, particularly for individuals who are less compliant with preventive measures, is crucial.

Occurrence and severity of acute respiratory infections during the first year among very preterm infants: an Epipage-2 cohort analysis

Marie-Laure Charkaluk et al.

Summary: ARIs are common in very preterm infants during their first year of life, with oxygen therapy frequently required. Risk factors for ARI include male sex, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, presence of siblings, childcare in the community with incomplete palivizumab treatment. Factors associated with more frequent oxygen requirement during ARI include mechanical ventilation in the neonatal period, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and discharge between October and March.

Characteristics of the delayed respiratory syncytial virus epidemic, 2020/2021, Rhone Loire, France

Jean-Sebastien Casalegno et al.

Summary: The 2020/21 RSV epidemic in the Rhone-Loire metropolitan areas was delayed due to the implementation of non-pharmaceutical interventions. Severe lower respiratory tract infections among infants <= 3 months decreased twofold, while cases among older children and adults > 65 years were reduced. Non-pharmaceutical interventions should be promoted to minimize the impact of future RSV outbreaks.
