Cationic Pollutant Removal from Aqueous Solution Using Reduced Graphene Oxide

Talia Tene et al.

Summary: In this study, pristine reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was used to remove cationic pollutants from water, such as methylene blue and mercury ions. The pristine rGO showed high adsorption capacity and short adsorption time, and exhibited a mixed physisorption-chemisorption process. These findings provide a new perspective for the removal of cationic pollutants using oxidized graphene materials.

Removal of mercury(II) from aqueous solution by partially reduced graphene oxide

Talia Tene et al.

Summary: A partially reduced graphene oxide has been proposed as an effective adsorbent material for the removal of Hg(II) from water. The material exhibits high adsorption capacity and efficiency in reducing the concentration of Hg(II). The adsorption process involves both physisorption and chemisorption.

Calibration of Fermi Velocity to Explore the Plasmonic Character of Graphene Nanoribbon Arrays by a Semi-Analytical Model

Talia Tene et al.

Summary: This study presents an analysis of the electronic and plasmonic behavior of sufficiently wide graphene nanoribbons using a semi-analytical model. The plasmon resonance energies of the studied systems are found to fall in the lower THz band, indicating their potential for optoelectronic and photonic applications. The energies are critically affected by various factors, suggesting tunability of the associated light-matter modes.

Mercury removal from syngas by metal oxides based adsorbent: A review

Zhuang Liu et al.

Summary: The review summarizes the removal of mercury (Hg) from syngas using metal oxide based adsorbent (MOBA). The study reveals that MOBA composition, syngas component, and reaction temperature significantly influence the efficiency of Hg removal. HCl and H2S are beneficial for Hg removal by MOBA, while CO, H2, and H2O are harmful. The advantages and disadvantages of different regeneration methods are discussed, with emphasis on the effectiveness of elution regeneration.

Evidence of massless Dirac fermions in graphitic shells encapsulating hollow iron microparticles

Andrea Scarcello et al.

Summary: This study presents a synthesis of iron microspheres wrapped by graphitic layers in water-submerged arc discharge experiments, showing the presence of TBLG and turbostratic graphite with different rotation angles. These results pave the way for the synthesis of robust graphitic materials with the electronic properties of SLG.
