Design of silane-based UV-absorbing thin coatings on polyethylene films

Summary: UV-absorbing surfaces have received attention due to their relevance in research and industry. However, current surfaces suffer from drawbacks such as instability, complex synthesis, and poor optical properties. A modified method was proposed to polymerize UV-absorbing silane monomers onto polyethylene films, resulting in highly UV absorbent and durable coatings with excellent optical properties. The coated films showed potential for industrial applications.

Additionally, the coated film demonstrated angle-dependent strain sensitivity and response to oscillatory magnetic fields, providing a new approach for mitigating radiation pollution, strain sensing, and non-contact heating.
