Prevalence and Developmental Profiles of Autism Spectrum Disorders in Children With Global Developmental Delay

Ling Shan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the prevalence and developmental profiles of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in children with Global developmental delay (GDD) from the perspective of GDD. It found that GDD children with poorer developmental levels are more likely to have comorbid ASD. The developmental profiles of GDD(+)ASD(-) children and GDD(+)ASD(+) children have common features but also differences, with the GDD(+)ASD(+) group having a lower overall development level.

Screening for Autism Spectrum Disorder in Toddlers During the 18-and 24-Month Well-Child Visits

Ying Zhang et al.

Summary: Early screening plays an important role in detecting autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children. This study investigated the diagnostic rate of ASD screening and the effectiveness of a community-based screening model. The results showed that a combination of the M-CHAT-R/F with BOT was an effective tool for early detection of ASD. The findings provide reliable data for estimating ASD detection rates and validating community-based screening models.

A Multi-Center Study on the Relationship Between Developmental Regression and Disease Severity in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorders

Chaoqun Hu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the prevalence of developmental regression in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and found that children with regressive ASD have more severe core symptoms and lower neurodevelopmental level. This highlights the need for further examination and clinical attention.

Autism Symptoms in Children and Young Adults With Fragile X Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome, Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, and Neurofibromatosis Type 1: A Cross-Syndrome Comparison

Kyra Lubbers et al.

Summary: This study compares ASD symptomatology between monogenetic syndromes with a high ASD prevalence, in order to reveal syndrome specific vulnerabilities and to clarify how genetic variations affect ASD symptom presentation. The results show differences in ASD severity and social domains among different syndrome groups.

Sleep problems in children with autism spectrum disorder: a multicenter survey

Hongyu Chen et al.

Summary: This study investigated the sleep conditions of ASD children in China and found a significantly higher prevalence of sleep disorders in ASD children compared to typically-developing children. Common sleep problems included bedtime resistance, anxiety, sleep onset delay, and daytime sleepiness. These sleep problems may be related to core symptoms but not to the developmental level in ASD children.
