Fibroblast growth factor receptor signalling dysregulation and targeting in breast cancer

Chiara Francavilla et al.

Summary: FGFR signaling is critical in breast cancer progression, and its dysregulation can lead to treatment resistance. Understanding the roles of FGFR and its ligands may offer novel treatment strategies for breast cancer patients.

Pathogenicity of the MAGE family

Sanyan Li et al.

Summary: The MAGE protein family is highly conserved, with normal expression primarily in reproduction-related tissues, but abnormal expression in tumor tissues. Some MAGE proteins act as oncogenes and play a critical role in tumorigenesis.

Protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type C (PTPRC or CD45)

Maryam Ahmed Al Barashdi et al.

Summary: CD45, also known as PTPRC, is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on almost all haematopoietic cells and plays a crucial role in regulating T and B cell antigen receptor-mediated activation. Imbalance in protein tyrosine kinase and phosphatase activity from CD45 and other proteins can lead to immunodeficiency, autoimmunity, or malignancy. CD45 functions upstream of a large signalling network which varies between cell types, indicating different effects on these cells. Its involvement in the innate immune system highlights the importance of CD45 in future research.

The MYC oncogene - the grand orchestrator of cancer growth and immune evasion

Renumathy Dhanasekaran et al.

Summary: The MYC proto-oncogenes are among the most commonly activated proteins in human cancer, with their activation affecting cancer cell pathophysiology, disrupting the tumor microenvironment, and suppressing host immune responses. Therapies targeting the MYC pathway may play a key role in reversing cancerous growth and restoring antitumor immune responses.
