Long-Term Scheduling and Power Control for Wirelessly Powered Cell-Free IoT

Xinhua Wang et al.

Summary: The study focuses on long-term scheduling and power control scheme for a wirelessly powered cell-free IoT network, aiming to maximize the minimum time-average achievable rate while maintaining the battery state of sensors above a predefined level. Lyapunov optimization is used to jointly determine transmission mode, active sensor set, and power control coefficients for each time slot. Simulation results demonstrate significant improvement in minimum time-average achievable rate compared to a simple greedy transmission scheme.

Massive Access in Cell-Free Massive MIMO-Based Internet of Things: Cloud Computing and Edge Computing Paradigms

Malong Ke et al.

Summary: This article investigates the massive access in cell-free massive MIMO-based IoT and proposes two processing paradigms for massive access: cloud computing and edge computing. By leveraging the structured sparsity of the channel matrix, a structured sparsity-based SS-GAMP algorithm is developed for joint AUD and CE. Simulation results show the superior performance of the proposed approach and indicate that edge computing can achieve similar massive access performance as cloud computing while alleviating the burden on CPU and providing faster access response.
