Cl/S co-doped carbon nitride nanotube clusters effectively drive the metal-free photo-Fenton reaction under visible light: A new ROS conversion mechanism

Summary: In this study, Cl/S co-doped carbon nitride nanotube clusters were used as a photocatalyst for metal-free photo-Fenton reaction. The Cl/S-TCN photocatalyst, in combination with H2O2, showed excellent degradation performance for organic wastewater over a wide pH range. The optimal H2O2 dosage was found to be 10 mM, and it significantly enhanced the degradation rate of pollutants under neutral conditions. The MF-PF(Cl/S-TCN) system also demonstrated efficient COD removal for domestic sewage and oilfield produced water. Furthermore, the system exhibited good stability and a novel reaction pathway.

On P-doping of graphitic carbon nitride with hexachlorotriphosphazene as a source of phosphorus

Summary: The synthesis of P-doped graphitic carbon nitride (PCN) by in situ doping via co-pyrolysis of melamine and hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene (HCCP) is being investigated. The results show continuous enrichment of graphitic carbon nitride (CN) by phosphorus, which is believed to predominantly substitute carbon in the structure. PCN with 2.44 wt% of phosphorus shows the highest photodegradation activity under VIS irradiation, indicating the potential of P-doped PCN in photocatalytic applications.
