MiR-139-5p Targeting CCNB1 Modulates Proliferation, Migration, Invasion and Cell Cycle in Lung Adenocarcinoma

Bin Bao et al.

Summary: This study found that overexpression of CCNB1 is associated with tumor progression and shorter overall survival in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). It also discovered that miR-139-5p may negatively regulate CCNB1 to suppress proliferation, migration, and invasion of LUAD cells.

BUB1B (BUB1 Mitotic Checkpoint Serine/Threonine Kinase B) promotes lung adenocarcinoma by interacting with Zinc Finger Protein ZNF143 and regulating glycolysis

Xiaolei Zhou et al.

Summary: BUB1B is upregulated in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) and high BUB1B expression is associated with shorter survival time in LUAD patients. Knocking out BUB1B suppresses cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, and inhibits tumor growth in experiments. Further analysis reveals that BUB1B regulates glycolysis and interacts with ZNF143 in LUAD cells. The study suggests that the ZNF143/BUB1B axis plays a pivotal role in LUAD progression.

Structural and functional radiomics for lung cancer

Guangyao Wu et al.

Summary: Radiomics plays a crucial role in the detection, diagnosis, and prediction of lung cancer, covering pathology, gene mutation, treatment strategy, follow-up, treatment response evaluation, and prognosis. However, challenges such as limited large datasets, methodology standardization, the black-box nature of deep learning, and reproducibility need to be addressed for the clinical implementation of radiomics. Future directions include developing a safer and more efficient model training mode, merging multi-modality images, and combining multi-discipline or multi-omics to form Medomics.

Characterization of the fatty acid metabolism in colorectal cancer to guide clinical therapy

Chengsheng Ding et al.

Summary: The study investigated the role of fatty acid metabolism in colorectal cancer (CRC) and established a prognostic risk score model based on fatty acid metabolism-related genes. The model can predict the prognosis of CRC patients and guide effective immunotherapy regimens.

Prognostic and clinicopathological value of BUB1B expression in patients with lung adenocarcinoma: a meta-analysis

Jie Chen et al.

Summary: This meta-analysis identifies BUB1B as a significant biomarker for poor prognosis and clinicopathological outcomes in patients with LUAD, with high BUB1B expression associated with male sex, smoking history, and advanced TNM stage. High BUB1B expression predicts poor overall survival and progression-free survival.

Fatty Acid Metabolism Reprogramming in Advanced Prostate Cancer

Huan Xu et al.

Summary: Prostate cancer is characterized by abundant fatty acids, leading to rewired fatty acid metabolism during development. Changes to fatty acid metabolism occur systemically and locally in patients, influencing individualized treatments, especially in advanced, castration-resistant cases. These metabolic changes play a critical role in cancer initiation and development, and studying them may lead to potential candidates for treatment and diagnosis.
