RNA-Seq analysis of duck embryo fibroblast cells gene expression during duck Tembusu virus infection

Yuhong Pan et al.

Summary: This study utilized high-throughput RNA sequencing to investigate the changes in host gene expression during duck embryo fibroblasts (DEF) infected with Duck Tembusu virus (DTMUV). The results identified a large number of differentially expressed genes related to various biological functions including signal transduction, host immunity, virus infection, cell apoptosis, cell proliferation, and pathogenicity-related and metabolic process signaling pathways. These findings provide valuable insights into the host-DTMUV interaction and have implications for the development of antiviral drugs and vaccines for poultry.

Highly pathogenic porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (HP-PRRSV) induces IL-6 production through TAK-1/JNK/AP-1 and TAK-1/NF-κB signaling pathways

Yangyang Xu et al.

Summary: Highly pathogenic PRRSV infection enhances IL-6 production and expression through activation of JNK and NF-κB signaling pathways. TAK-1 plays a crucial role in the activation of JNK and NF-κB pathways following HP-PRRSV infection, indicating the dependence of IL-6 expression on AP-1 and NF-κB activation.

Quantification of Cytokine Storms During Virus Infections

Shu Yuan et al.

Summary: Cytokine storms triggered by highly pathogenic virus infections can have adverse effects on vital organs. Interleukin (IL)-4 and interferon (IFN)-gamma play key roles in regulating cytokine storms. Different viruses may induce different cytokines with varying amplitudes, and specific mathematical formulas apply to IFN-gamma-inducible infections.

Transcriptome analysis reveals new insight of duck Tembusu virus (DTMUV)-infected DF-1 cells

Kaikai Han et al.

Summary: RNA-Seq analysis of DTMUV-infected DF-1 cells identified 663 differentially expressed genes, mainly involved in cellular processes, immune system processes, and signaling pathways. Real-time PCR validation confirmed the results were consistent with sequencing data, providing valuable information for understanding host response to DTMUV infection and its pathogenic mechanism.

Kamrul Ahmed Khan et al.

Summary: This study detected circulating duck plague virus (DPV) in infected ducks from five Haor districts in Bangladesh, revealing a high prevalence of DPV. The isolates were found to be closely related to Chinese DPV isolates, and certain isolates showed genetic variability that may impact protein function and drug sensitivity.
