Adherence and Efficacy of Smoking Cessation Treatment Among Patients with COPD in China

Rui Qin et al.

Summary: This study is the first in China to evaluate adherence to smoking cessation treatment among COPD patients, with findings showing that good adherence significantly improves smoking cessation efficacy. Factors such as older age, higher education level, more previous quitting attempts, stronger self-efficacy and preparation in quitting smoking, recognition of smoking hazards, longer duration of COPD, and higher SGRQ scores were associated with good adherence.
