Fragility Fractures and Imminent Fracture Risk in the Spanish Population: A Retrospective Observational Cohort Study

Maria-Jose Montoya-Garcia et al.

Summary: Fragility fractures are a significant public health issue globally, with hip fractures being most prevalent in women aged 80 and above. Older age and recent fractures were identified as independent risk factors for further fracture events. There was a significant excess mortality rate in individuals aged 80 and above with a previous hip fracture.
