Insight into the Roles of Metal Loading on CO2 Photocatalytic Reduction Behaviors of TiO2

Darika Permporn et al.

Summary: The photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide into value-added chemicals has gained research interest. In this study, TiO2-supported Pt, Pd, Ni, and Cu catalysts were synthesized and investigated. The formation of various metal species on the TiO2 surface after UV light irradiation was studied using XANES technique. The charge recombination rate and catalytic behaviors of the catalysts were analyzed. The effect of energy band alignment on CO2 photoreduction was also studied. Pt-TiO2 catalyst showed the highest methanol yield and electron transit time.

Experimental study of thin film Fe2O3/TiO2 for photocatalytic Rhodamine B degradation

Surangkana Wannapop et al.

Summary: TiO2 and Fe2O3/TiO2 thin films were fabricated and characterized for removing organic contaminants in wastewater through a photocatalytic process. Fe2O3/TiO2 thin film showed better performance in response to UV light and charge carrier lifetimes compared to TiO2 thin film, leading to more significant degradation of Rhodamine B.
