In-situ self-assembly of mono- and bi-metal organic frameworks onto clay mineral for highly efficient adsorption of pollutants from wastewater

Hossein Shahriyari Far et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel approach involving the in-situ growth of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) over clay minerals is presented for the rapid and efficient removal of dyes from wastewater. The effect of mono-metal and bi-metal MOFs with different morphologies on the adsorption capacity of the developed MOF/clay composites is studied. The resulting composite exhibits a stable structure with superb adsorption capacity, surpassing the state-of-the-art clay-based adsorbents.

Effective removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solution in hybrid system utilizing agricultural waste as particle electrodes

A. Annam Renita et al.

Summary: A study comparing electrolytic, adsorption, and hybrid methods for removing malachite green dye from water using Eucalyptus globulus seeds found that the hybrid method was most effective at 12 V voltage, with removal capacity increasing with higher voltages. The removal efficiency of the particle electrodes at 6, 9, and 12 V were 95%, 97%, and 99.8% respectively, and the biosorbent could be reused up to ten times without significant loss in efficiency.

A. Murugesan et al.

Summary: Oxides supported Activated Carbon (Ox-ACs) were prepared from Calophyllum inopyllum via pyrolysis and acid treatment, with cobalt and nickel oxides doped on the surface. These doped Ox-ACs showed efficient photocatalytic degradation of Methylene Blue, with the incorporation of Co2+ and Ni2+ ions significantly enhancing the degradation rate. The kinetic study using Langmuir-Hinshelwood model showed good fitting, and the recyclability test confirmed the stable performance of the catalysts for effluent dye degradation.
