Preparation of graphene oxide/4A molecular sieve composite and evaluation of adsorption performance for Rhodamine B

Xuan Liu et al.

Summary: A novel composite material based on graphene oxide and molecular sieve 4A (GO/4A) was designed for efficient removal of Rhodamine B (RB) in water. The adsorption capacity of GO/4A-3 for RB reached a high value of 62.81 mg.g(-1) at pH 3, and its removal performance was improved by 291% compared to acid-modified 4A molecular sieve. The successful combination of GO and 4A molecular sieve also improved the poor separation performance of GO itself. Thermodynamic studies showed that RB was spontaneously, endothermically, and entropy-increasing adsorbed onto 4A molecular sieve and GO/4A composites.

Size controlled Ag decorated TiO2 plasmonic photocatalysts for tetracycline degradation under visible light

Ruiqi Gang et al.

Summary: Ag-decorated TiO2 plasmonic photocatalysts were successfully fabricated using a facile method. The TiO2/Ag samples exhibited higher photodegradation efficiency and superior stability, which was attributed to the surface plasmon resonance effect and enhanced visible light absorption of Ag nanoparticles. A possible mechanism for the degradation of tetracycline by TiO2/Ag nanocomposites was proposed.

Effective Inclusion of Sizable Amounts of Mo within TiO2 Nanoparticles Can Be Obtained by Reverse Micelle Sol-Gel Synthesis

Serena Esposito et al.

Summary: The study synthesized six Mo/TiO2 samples using reverse micelle sol-gel synthesis and calcination at 500 degrees C, showing the presence of significant Mo without segregation of any MoOx phase. With increasing Mo content, the transition from anatase to rutile was favored due to the presence of brookite.
