Herbal medicine for functional dyspepsia: Network meta-analysis of placebo-controlled randomised trials

Summary: This study evaluated the comparative effectiveness of herbal medicine formulae for functional dyspepsia through a network meta-analysis. Findings suggest that Xiao Yao Pill and Modified Ban Xia Xie Xin Decoction may have beneficial effects in alleviating global symptoms, with no serious adverse events reported. Further trials are needed to assess the comparative effectiveness of these formulae.

Chinese herbal medicine for functional dyspepsia: a network meta-analysis of prokinetic-controlled randomised trials

Summary: This study conducted a network meta-analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) as a substitute for prokinetics in treating functional dyspepsia (FD) in Asia. The results suggest that Modified Zhi Zhu Decoction and Xiao Pi Kuan Wei Decoction may be considered as alternative treatments for patients unresponsive to prokinetics, with a potential for alleviating symptoms without serious adverse events. Further confirmatory trials are recommended to investigate their comparative effectiveness against prokinetics.

Association of Functional Dyspepsia with Depression and Anxiety: A Systematic Review
